To some he was just a dumb dog, but to me, he was a great companion and friend. He was always happy to see me, no matter what I looked liked, acted like or what kind of mood I was in. I know he knew my car, he would see me drive by and watch until I was gone. He would greet me when I got home, standing patiently by the car door until I opened it and gave him pats and talked to him. He would jump and wiggle his body in the funniest way. He was a good dog and I will miss him. He was walking my grandkids home last night and as they got across the street, he followed them right under the wheels of a truck. I feel bad for Scott and Nikki to have to go through that. I know I should have been better at tying him up... he just loved to go with the grandkids and make sure they were safe, then sleep on their couch outside their door. He loved, loved, loved to play catch. I asked Curt to bury him with a ball. He will be buried at the ranch, he loved to go there.. He was Alpha Dog and ruled the other dogs that would visit! I think I have cried myself out now and can face the day without him. By habit I got up and looked out the window to see if he got home safe, I wonder how long it will take me to get used to him not being here? I have never been this sad at a pets death before, It's just that he was mine and I loved him and he loved me back.

Odds and Ends
We have had a wonderful summer, doing so many fun things, the sad part is, is that it is coming to an end too fast! I wanted to get so much more done while I could, I just kept finding more fun things to do and took up my extra time! It has been a good one though, so I am going to share some of the most recent photos with you. Most will be of my trip to Southern Utah with my mom, Molly, Brooklyn and Bailey. It was hot; but wonderful. We stopped in Nephi to meet Gina and her family for lunch on the way down and then stopped at her house for lunch on the way back! My granddaughters were wonderful to take with me, they kept me laughing and on my toes. (They won the hearts of my aunts, which is neat to see!)
Curt and I also went to his 40th class reunion and I have a photo of that. It was a wonderful evening, great to see friends we haven't seen for a long time. They are going to have an annual picnic now along with the every five years thing. I have to say, I have been to so many more of his reunions than mine. It will be in two years and I want to go to it. I have only went to one, my five year and I thought it was so lame. I am older and somewhat changed now, so I think I will enjoy it this time
Oh, and the latest quilt that I finished, a "Turning Twenty" that I did for Josh and Brooke Dallins wedding....
I have also got some preserving done for the winter, I love this time of year, when I can look in my pantry and see all that I have accomplished. I like knowing that it is done and ready for the winter. Nothing like home canned fruit and vegys to make ameal!
All in all, life is good and we are enjoying it!

Adjustments....
I'm sure you all know by now that Doug is getting married to Emilee Jones on October 9th. It is now official, she has her ring and it is the most beautiful one I have ever seen!
We are so happy for both of them. What an adjustment it will be for all three of them! First of all, to be married is a big one, to live in Wendover is a bigger one!
I hope Paityn will be able to get used to a dad and mom helping to raise her. She is such a sweet little girl and so beautiful. She has met some of her new cousins to be, and she seems to fit right in with them. I know our family can get to be a little on the overwhelming side... that will probably be the biggest adjustment yet! We are in the process of making plans and getting the list ready for invitations. I don't have pics of them yet, so if I can I am going to borrow some of hers until we get some made. I am just so excited to have two new members is the family to love and welcome in!!!
